This marks the fourth consecutive year that we’ve claimed our division title! Our students earned countless ribbons and showcased exceptional performances throughout the event. Not only did our students excel in competition, but they also demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship, supporting each other at every stage. Their dedication and positive attitude were a credit to our School.
Thank you to our students for their hard work and commitment in preparation for this carnival, and to our staff members, especially Brenton Campbell, for their invaluable support. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to Henry 5LD and Malaika 6CM. Henry has been selected to represent the North Adelaide region at the SAPSASA Cricket State Championships. Maliaka has been selected to represent the North Adelaide region at the SAPSASA Tennis State Championships.
Attached to this newsletter is a PowerPoint presentation that showcases the Dominican sites I had the privilege of visiting during my leave – sometimes arriving on the right day proved difficult and on a few occasions the buildings were closed!

At this time of the year, we all start thinking ahead to 2025—new classes, upcoming projects and events, or even just what next year might bring. Thinking too far ahead can keep us from making the most of where we are right now.
I have been thinking about the importance of focusing on what’s right in front of us, as the best way to finish this year and feel a sense of pride in what we've accomplished. Encouraging children to do the same is especially important.
Children can sometimes feel anxious about change. By encouraging them to stay focused on the present and the tasks at hand, we can help them build resilience and a sense of accomplishment that sets them up for even greater success in the future. I would encourage families to spend a few minutes at the end of each week discussing what went well and what was learned. By focusing on growth, children can feel a sense of accomplishment that keeps them grounded.
Let’s encourage our children to wrap up this year with energy and intention and take pride in finishing well.
Regards
Susan
I have had the pleasure this year to work with a very efficient and hardworking group of Faith and Social Justice Leaders. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with them and as our time together was coming to an end, I asked them to write a brief reflection on their time as Student Leaders.
I hope you enjoy reading their thoughts.
"As a member the Faith & Social Justice leadership group in 2024 I have developed many skills while being a part of the group, such as being able to organise and help with events such as our support for Vinnie’s and Hutt Street.
We also have visited classes to inform them what is happening. Being a Faith & Social Justice leader for my last year of Rosary School was so much fun and we got to do so many fun activities like making posters and signs that help the school community know what has been happening in the Social Justice space this year".Caterina Year 6
"Now that the leadership groups have ended it is time to look back and reflect on what amazing things that helped coordinate. This has included Clean Up Australia Day, Vinnies Christmas appeal and even making the Year 6 leaders take part in daily prayer. We have all had a positive experience being Faith and Social Justice leaders and we have learned many skills to be better versions of ourselves and to make memories through helping each other and our community".Maxwell Year 6
"Skills that I have Developed in my leadership group this year are; being able to organise/make posters/notify people about the sausage sizzles, Vinnies appeal, Honk for Hutt street and many more. Another skill that I have developed in the 2024 Faith and Social Justice leadership group is that I have been able to write articles for our newsletter. I have also supported this community by donating to the Vinnies Winter Appeal and Project Compassion. Rosary School raised $3,460 dollars for Project Compassion which is incredible!". Mackenzie Year 6
"For the Vinnie’s winter appeal, we donated 26 baskets of food, which was such a huge thing. As Leaders, we decided to write little messages for the whole school for Mass of the Roses. It was a big effort, but everyone enjoyed it.
Some highlights were Harmony Day because we had to dress up in clothes which reflected our cultural background or you could dress up in orange. This was fun because we got to see what culture everyone is. For Holy Communion and Confirmation we had 27 students receive the sacraments this year and for Reconciliation, 44 students received the sacrament in 2024". Ashley Year 6
"On August 9th the Walk a Mile in My Boots event took place. This was a very special day as we encouraged the residents of Prospect to honk their car horn for the homeless". Mary Year 6
"I have developed confidence from talking in front of classes around the school about Vinnies Winter and Christmas appeals.I have also developed more focus when doing work in leadership group, by always finishing my work on time.
Another development I have developed is my listening skills. I have improved my listening skills through listening to my peers talk about their ideas".Ashlee Year 6
"For leadership groups 2024, I was in the Faith and Social Justice group. I have developed many qualities since being in the Social Justice group. I have learnt how to work on serving the community with prayers at assembly, in class, liturgies and masses.
We encouraged the students to participate in events by going around to each class and explaining why we do things for a good cause. One of my highlights from being in the Faith and Social Justice leaders was making the posters for the Vinnies Winter and Christmas appeal. We got to hang them all around the school and participate in such fun events. Since it is now at the end of our road as the Faith and Social justice leaders, I feel so happy that the Year 5s get to enjoy being leaders of the school and be positive role models throughout next year". Matilda Year 6
1AD has had a fun and busy start to Term 4!
At the end of Week 2 we were lucky enough to attend the R-1 School Disco! Here we got to show off our dance moves, sing our favourite songs and spend time with our wonderful friends.
Stefan – I loved the disco because my uncle was the DJ.
Celine – My favourite part of the disco was getting a party bag for my crazy hair.
Mateo – I liked listening to the song 'Believer'.
Jax – I liked the lights and the music.
Thomas – I loved playing limbo.
In English, this term we have been learning how to write persuasive texts. We have learnt that a persuasive text is a piece of writing that involves trying to convince the reader to have the same opinion as the writer. We have explored many topics such as:
- Children should have to do chores
- Chocolate is better than lollies.
- Children should do homework every night.
- Summer is better than winter.
- Children should not get a lunch order every day.
Here are some of our convincing arguments:
Nathaniel - I strongly believe that students should not have a lunch order every day because it is expensive and will waste their parents’ money!
Summer – I believe students should have to do chores because it can help them earn pocket money.
Emilia – If students have lunch orders every day it will waste the food they have at home in the kitchen!
Elba – Children should do homework every day because it helps their brains grow.
We have also been participating in lots of engaging literacy activities to support our reading, comprehension and writing growth.
Jackson – I liked making my heart words out of magnetic letters.
Rosie – I liked reading the big books and writing about my favourite page.
Mia – I loved writing my heart words in bubble writing.
This term in Religion we have been learning about different religious symbols. Last week we started learning about Diwali, a special celebration in the Hindu faith. We learnt that Diwali is a festival of lights with the word ‘Diwali’ meaning a row of lighted lamps. Diwali represents the start of new beginnings.
We created our own Lanterns using coloured paper.
In Design and Technology, we have been exploring algorithms and developing our coding skills. We have been using Bee-Bots to practice coding a sequence of instructions to move the Bee-Bots from one point of our classroom to another.
2024 Tuition Fees – Account Finalisation

2025 Financial Information
We are pleased to inform our school families that there will not be an increase in school fees for the 2025 school year.
Unfortunately, some costs are beyond our control and are billed separately to recover service costs. These may include, but are not limited to, camps and extracurricular activities.

Cooper (5HA), Jess (5HA) and Cameron (3BB) travelled to Brisbane to compete in the Robocup Junior National Competition after winning the State Championship in August this year. Their performance was based on Mario Bro's and they managed to get through the competition with ease and no major robotic malfunctions. They were happy as a team for their efforts, with every performance they did going to plan. The kids were also interviewed as part of the process. They interviewed very well, answering the questions with confidence and being congratulated for their work. Overall they finished 6th in the highest division for their category. The team had a great time and had a great experience.
